The first care of the Emperor when he was placed at the head of government, was to re-establish a form of worship. The medal commemorative of this event, represents on one side the head of Napoleon, with the
Napoleon Bonaparte, 1st Consul.
On the reverse is Justice, under the protection of the victorious army, raising Religion sitting on ruins. The cross and the gospel are at her side. In the back ground is the church of Notre Dame.
