Buonaparte gènèral (sic) en chef de l'armée d'Italie. (Buonaparte, Commanding General of the Army of Italy).--Bust to the left, in uniform, the hair in a queue. Below: civ. et art. lug. off. (cives et artifices lugdunenses offerebant) (offered by the citizens and artisans of Lyon).
R. A Buonaparte l'italique, le 26 vre l'an vi (To Buonaparte the Italian, 26 vendémiaire year 6). Peace, seated. to the right, holds in her left hand a branch of olive, and leans her right arm on an inverted horn of plenty. In front of her, an altar without a flame, decorated with clasping hands and a caduceus. Exergue: Il ne combattit que pour la paix et les droits de l'homme. (He fights only for peace and the rights of man.) Above the bar: Chavanne f. (fecit).
